Friday 21st October - A brief spurt of activity then......

It was hot today. If you sat in the sun you were subjecting yourself to temperatures in the high thirties. Di tried it but announced that it was too hot and retreated to the shade. I didn't even bother and stayed inside with a good book.

The day started normally with us meeting Joanna, Obi, Lou and Anton at the Leisure Centre where I indulged in a brief spurt of activity in the gym before reading with a nice coffee whilst waiting for Di who did a Zumba class. She returned rather red in the face and said that it had been too hot. They had been displaced by a meeting in their normal room and had the class in the hall where there was obviously no air-conditioning. After a coffee and chat, we collected the kids from the creche and went our separate ways: Jo took her kids to the beach but we headed for home knowing that Ollie really needs his mid day nap.

We relaxed for the best part of the afternoon and as it cooled at around 5pm we went round to the new house to clean and add salt to the pool. At 6.00 we headed home and prepared some pizza topping. Di and I drove down to the bottle-o to pick up some VB and a few bottles of white wine. All this was in preparation for an evening of rugby. Australia were playing Wales in the World Cup play offs. Australia prevailed but an awesome last ten minutes by the Welsh made for a very exciting finish.
