Friday 7th October - The Peninsula Leisure Centre

Friday is Ollie's swimming day. He goes to the local leisure centre and does a swimming class. So after brekkie we drove to "The Peninsula Leisure Centre" on the edge of the nearby town of Woy Woy. It's typical of Australian public sports facilities- bloody marvellous! It has a pool area with kiddies' pool and diving area as well as a 50 metre competition pool. There's a gym for sporTs like basketball, a workout area with lots of exercise machines, A studio for group activities like Spin, Zumba, Body Pump etc, a cafe area with a kid's climbing frame area attached and lastly a creche where fitness conscious Mums and Dads can leave their little ones for up to an hour and a half whilst they work-out.
Whilst Ollie and Tash did the swimming lesson, Di and I signed up for a two month special deal of AUD 132. We then had about 40 minutes workout in the gym. I cycled, used various weight machines and a strange arm cycle. Di used the treadmill, bike and rower. Ollie did well in his swimming and got his first sports award certificate. We had a coffee in the cafe before returning home for a relaxing afternoon in the garden. We did some weeding and reading whilst Ollie, obviously exhausted by his efforts, had a long sleep. I cooked a spag Bol for dinner but Tash had an evening out with the girls, to celebrate her imminent event!
